Hitman Returns: David Foster & Friends 2 in Manila (SMART Araneta Coliseum, Oct.25, 2011)

I felt like a criminal last night! Still and video cams are prohibited inside but being the sneak that I am, i figured out a way to get away with it ;)

I removed my DSLR's lens and wrapped it in a scarf, stashed it at the bottom of my bag, topped it with my hair brush and perfume.

As for the camera body,  well I emptied my vanity kit and stashed the body inside. I then piled my make-up on top. I even left my make-up kit open so that when the guards inspect it, they would assume it's just make-up inside. Made it less obvious ;)

As for the video cam, i placed it on my sunglass case. Wallaaaah! You can't imagine the relief I felt after i got through security LOL

The show started at past 8pm and ended @ 11:30 (i guess)

Russell Watson performed first with some great tenor songs like Volare, You Raise me Up and Because We Believe. Philip Bailey performed some of Earth Wind & Fire songs like After the Love is Gone, September, etc.

Ashanti sang her hits and did a Whitney Houston Medley. She was awesome! On her entrance, her shoe got stuck on the stage and broke, she performed without shoes instead. I thought she removed it coz she's gonna dance. Cute tho.

Random people were pulled out of the audience and they all sang a 30 second song on stage. Thor ( online contest winner) sang Eric Benet's "The Last Time". I looove it! Martin Nievera got pulled out too and sang Forever in my Heart. Garlic Garcia did a Tina Turner song and she rocked it! lol She's so funny!

Charice had a very dramatic entrance. She performed "Power of Love", "Unbreak my Heart" and "Louder" and Stand up for Love". This is the first time I heard her live, and I'm so impressed! Ang swabe lang ng voice!

Micheal Bolton, oh my, how old is he? My golly, I'm tellin you, he's hawt! He sang "When a Man Loves a Woman", "To Love Somebody", "How am I Supposed to Live without You?" and some of his hits. Plus, he did a duet with Charice and sang "The Prayer".

For the finale, they all sang "The Earth Song"

And just when you think it's over... it's not! Stage lights we're turned off and people are starting to leave, and then David Foster went back to stage for an encore. He played his famous hits and all of us at the audience were singing with him. Songs from the 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000 that we all knew by heart. Just when we're singing out hearts out in the best parts, he would cut us off and change the song. What a tease! LOL

A fan from Pasig named Kimmie, (she was seated somewhere on the upperbox area, and was pulled out by David on the first half of the show. Because she was so far away from the stage, we thought she'd never sing.) But this girl was called after our little sing-along moment with David Foster and she closed the show with the song Because You Loved Me. Turns out, she's a big Charice fan and was surprised when Charice went back to stage to sing with her.

I was surprised that I actually had a great time on this concert. I was aiming to see the Black Eyed Peas, but my Mom and Dad got us the David Foster tickets instead. I was feeling kinda bummed at first but no regrets, i love what I've seen last night. Contrary to what people say (specially those who've seen the BEP concert), DFF  is NOT boring at all. Yes, the song genre may be different but it's not for you to decide what people should see or not. Stop comparing. BEP is good as well as DFF. No competition there. They're actually friends, duh!

I saw a tweet saying "Aanhin mo ang mataas na boses kung boring naman". How stupid can that person be?

Oh well, I had a blast last night. Period. And hopefully, when they come back next year, I'll definitely see it again :)
